To say that Les Ferrullo has a passion for the open water is understating his second love (next to his wife and three children). For the past 35 years, he has become intimately familiar with the waters between southeast Florida and the Bahamas. As a licensed U.S. Coast Guard captain, Les has logged thousands of hours cruising between the premier fishing destinations and breath-taking snorkeling and dive sites for which these waters are renowned.
In addition to his vast boating experience, Les is a licensed
commercial fisherman and certified scuba diver, as well as
trained in first aid and CPR. He is a member of the Stuart
Sailfish Club and The Billfish Foundation. Since retiring from a
successful career as a building contractor, he divides his time
between his newborn grandchildren in Clinton, New Jersey, and
sharing his passion for the water aboard the Summer
Mistress.
Sharing his passion for the ocean and related boating activities, Les’s wife Carol has become an invaluable part of the Summer Mistress. experience. Her exceptional culinary talents, together with her boat handling skills, and pleasant disposition make her an asset on any voyage. Carol is also an experienced angler as well as an open water snorkeler.
